Alan B. Levan
Chairman and CEO
Alan B. Levan has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BFC Financial Corporation (OTCQX: BFCF) and its predecessors from 1978 to current. He has also served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BBX Capital Corporation (NYSE: BBX), formerly known as BankAtlantic Bancorp, since 1994, and as Chairman of its former banking subsidiary BankAtlantic, from 1987 to 2012. He has also held the position of Chairman of Bluegreen Corporation from 2002 to current and was a director of Benihana, Inc. (formerly listed on NASDAQ: BNHN) from 2009 to August 2012 when Benihana became a privately owned company. Mr. Levan served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Woodbridge Holdings Corporation (formerly NYSE: WDG) and its predecessor from1985 until 2009 when it merged into a wholly-owned subsidiary of BFC Financial Corporation.
Mr. Levan is currently a member of the Nova Southeastern University Board of Trustees and former Chairman of the Board of Directors for Broward College Foundation. John E. Abdo
Vice Chairman
John E. Abdo, President of Abdo Companies, has been the Vice Chairman of BFC Financial Corporation (OTCQX: BFCF) since 1993 and a Director since 1988. Mr. Abdo serves as Vice Chairman of BBX Capital Corporation (NYSE: BBX), formerly known as BankAtlantic Bancorp, since 1994, and as Vice Chairman of it former banking subsidiary BankAtlantic, from 1987 to 2012. He is also the Vice Chairman of Bluegreen Corporation. Mr. Abdo formerly served as Vice Chairman of Benihana, Inc. Jarett S. Levan
Executive Vice President and Director
Jarett S. Levan has served as Executive Vice President of BFC Financial Corporation (OTCQX: BFCF) since April 2011 and as a Director of BFC Financial Corporation from September 2009 to current. He is also currently President of BBX Capital Corporation (NYSE: BBX), formerly known as BankAtlantic Bancorp, and has served on its board of directors since 1999. He also served on the board of directors of its former banking subsidiary BankAtlantic, from 1999 to 2012, and as its Chief Executive Officer and President from 2007 to 2012. Mr. Levan joined BankAtlantic as an attorney in the Legal Department in January 1998 and has served in various capacities including Chief Marketing Officer; President, Alternative Delivery; President, BankAtlantic.com; and Manager of Investor Relations.
Mr. Levan currently serves as a director of the Broward Performing Arts Foundation, the Broward Workshop, the Broward Alliance and the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art. He also serves as Chair for Business for the Arts of Broward.
Seth M. Wise
Executive Vice President and Director
Seth M. Wise serves as Executive Vice President and Director of BFC Financial Corporation and President of Woodbridge Holdings, LLC. He is also President of BBX Capital Asset Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of BBX Capital Corporation (NYSE: BBX), formerly known as BankAtlantic Bancorp. Mr. Wise began his career in commercial lending at the former BankAtlantic. Mr. Wise spent 5 years in retail real estate development as an executive with the Washington, D.C. based Targoff and Company and then joined the Abdo Companies as a development partner in 1996. In 2001, he joined Woodbridge Holdings as President of its commercial development subsidiary. He then became Executive Vice President of Woodbridge Holdings in 2003 and ultimately named its President in 2005.
Mr. Wise earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Florida. He serves as a member of the Real Estate Advisory Board of the Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Florida, member of Leadership Broward, member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Committee Chair of Nova Southeastern University’s Ambassadors Board, Director of JFS of Broward County (a human services non-profit) and a member of the South-East Florida/Caribbean Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
Darwin C. Dornbush
Darwin Dornbush has been a Partner in the law firm of Dornbush Schaeffer Strongin & Venaglia, LLP since 1964. Mr. Dornbush also serves as Secretary of Cantel Medical Corp., a healthcare company, and he has served as Secretary of Benihana and its predecessor since 1983. In addition, during February 2009, Mr. Dornbush rejoined the Board of Directors of Benihana, as Chairman of the Board, after serving as a Director of Benihana from 1995 through 2005.
Mr. Dornbush has served as a Director of BFC Financial Corporation since September 2009.
Oscar J. Holzmann
Oscar Holzmann has been director of the BFC Financial Corporation since 2002. Mr. Holzmann has been an Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Miami since 1980. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University in 1974.
Joel Levy
Joel Levy has served as a Director of BFC Financial Corporation since September 2009. Mr. Levy is currently the Vice Chairman of Adler Group, Inc., a commercial real estate company, and he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Adler Group, Inc. from 1984 through 2000. Mr. Levy also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of JLRE Consulting, Inc.
Alan J. Levy
Alan Levy is the Founder and, since 1980, has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Great American Farms, Inc., an agricultural company involved in the farming, marketing and distribution of a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Mr. Levy has served as a Director of BFC Financial Corporation since September 2009.
William R. Nicholson
William Nicholson has been a Principal with Heritage Capital Group since 2003. Since 2004, Mr. Nicholson has also served as President of WRN Financial Corporation and, since 2008, he has been a Principal with EXP Loan Services LLC.
Mr. Nicholson has served as a Director of BFC Financial Corporation since September 2009.
Neil A. Sterling
Neil Sterling has been director of the BFC Financial Corporation since 2003. Mr. Sterling has been the principal of The Sterling Resources Group, a business development-consulting firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, since 1998.
