Mark Willner
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Willner is an experienced high tech CEO with over 30 years in the electronic display industry. After starting his career at Hewlett Packard and Metaphor Computer Systems (a Xerox spinout), Mr. Willner went on to co-found and launch the Advanced Systems Division of Wyse Technology. In 1996 he founded Colorado MicroDisplay (CMD) where he successfully commercialized liquid crystal-on-silicon (LCOS) technology as miniature electronic displays used in cameras, camcorder, heads up and head mounted displays. While at CMD, Mr. Willner personally established joint development projects with Philips and Nokia, and raised over $60 million in strategic, venture capital, and mezzanine financing from Texas Instruments, Siemens, Polaroid, InFocus, Hambrecht & Quist, GE Capital and others. In 2002, Mr. Willner started nFlexion, a successful high tech management consulting firm, specializing in the commercialization of advanced display technology.
Chris Dunstan
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Dunstan has over 25 years of corporate, executive and management experience. He is currently a Director of TH Business Advisor, LLC. From 1998 to 2010, Mr. Dunstan served as Director of the John R. Oishei Foundation. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Dunstan was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer to Rich Products Corporation, a global food manufacturer with $3 billion of annual revenue. Mr. Dunstan held various other executive positions, including Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for Adelphi Cable Corporation, a publically traded broadcast media company; Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Sentry Group; Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of Trico Products Corporation, a public automotive products company; and Vice President of Finance, Treasurer and Director of Strategic Planning for Schlegel Corporation. Mr. Dunstan was a Certified Public Accountant with KPMG/Peat Marwick; a Sales Manager for General Electric Credit Corporation; a member of the Executive Advisory Committee and Dean’s Council at the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business; and a member on the Board of Project Jumpstart NY.
Dr. George Melnik
Senior Technical Advisor
Dr. Melnik joins 3DIcon as a Senior Technical Advisor where he will work closely with Dr. Refai and Mark Willner to advance the CSpace technology.
Dr. Melnik has had an extensive career in display technology research and development. He has been awarded 17 patents and authored numerous publications. For the last seven years Dr. Melnik has been a technology consultant specializing in display product development and also serving as an expert witness in patent law cases involving display technologies. Previously, Dr. Melnik worked with several startup companies on improving their display technologies and products. Prior to becoming a consultant, Dr. Melnik worked for 15 years at Philips where he drove the development of several novel technologies, including the liquid-crystal-on-silicon technology that was the basis for Philips’ groundbreaking rear projection HDTV. While at Philips, Dr. Melnik held positions in research, product development, and manufacturing. His last position held at Phillips was as the Director of Strategic Projects. Dr. Melnik was also instrumental in the early development of active matrix liquid crystal displays while at General Electric. Dr. Melnik received his Ph.D. in 1987 from the Liquid Crystal Institute of Kent State University. He is a senior member of the Society for Information Display and is presently the chairman of their mid-Atlantic chapter.
Dr. Hakki Refai
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Hakki Refai overseas all of 3DIcon’s research and development both in-house as well at the University of Oklahoma (OU) under its SRA with 3DIcon.
Dr. Refai is an award winning scientist and the inventor of Pixel Precision® and 3DIcon’s groundbreaking CSpace® 3D imaging technology. He is also an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering department of OU in Tulsa. Prior to joining 3DIcon as its CTO, he was a Senior Research Scientist in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering Program, at OU. He has more than five years experience leading the design, manufacturing, and marketing of advanced electronic devices before obtaining his Ph.D. and Master degrees in the Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 and 2002, respectively. Dr. Refai has authored and coauthored many journal and conference publications, and has served on the program committee of Atmospheric Laser Propagation III and IV, SPIE Defense and Security Symposium held in 2006 and 2007. He is a member of the IEEE, the SPIE, the OSA, and the SID.
Dr. James Sluss
Principal Investigator
Dr. Sluss leads the overall research work for the 3DIcon SRA. Dr. Sluss is the Morris R. Pitman Professor and Director of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at OU. He has been awarded seven U.S. patents, has authored/co-authored numerous journal and conference publications, and has been principal/co-principal investigator on over $11 million in sponsored research grants and contracts. He received his B.S in Physics in 1984 from Marshall University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1986 and 1989, respectively, from the University of Virginia.
His current research areas are in three-dimensional displays, optical communications, photonics, and intelligent transportation systems. Dr. Sluss has received honors and awards for his work for Digital Avionics and NASA among other accolades.
Dr. Sluss is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), IEEE Education Society, IEEE Communications Society, Optical Society of America (OSA), International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE), and American Society of Engineering Educators (ASEE). He presently serves as Treasurer of the IEEE Education Society.
Judith F. Keating
Corporate Secretary
After attending Bartlesville Business College at Wesley, Judith (Judy) Keating started her professional career with Public Accounting. Over the next ten years she became an employee in whom the firms put implicit trust – leading up to the point where she oversaw the due diligence for their mergers and acquisition of other firms.
Thereafter, she decided to start her own insurance business, which she grew with her partner over the next decade to a flourishing operation with about 50 agents and offices in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Subsequently, she has managed the office operations for Public Accounting firms, American Airlines as well as helped companies set-up and streamline their operations.
What sets Judy apart is her ability to relate to people and motivate them to reach greater heights. She has been working with 3DIcon full time since 2004. When it comes to matters pertaining to investors and shareholder, she has built the most amazing relationships – from knowing our early shareholders personally, to the folks at S&P! Judy is the critical cog that keeps the wheels of 3DIcon turning smoothly.
Vivek Bhaman
Chairman of Technical Advisory Board
As President and COO of 3DIcon from 2007 through 2009, Mr. Bhaman helped lead the company into new strategic milestones including listing 3DIcon as a fully reporting company on the OTCBB market, completing Phase I of 3DIcon’s SVD technology, as well as the introduction of the company’s first commercial product, Pixel Precision™.
Mr. Bhaman has been at the forefront of introducing new technologies and products to markets across the world. His spectrum includes consumer and business technologies such as cell phones and secure e-commerce transaction systems. At Verifone and Hewlett Packard, he was responsible for launching and managing the Asia-Pacific operations of the Electronic Commerce division. He has held leadership positions with global media giants Omnicom Group and Interpublic Group. For more than 15 years, Mr. Bhaman has successfully led startup and marketing operations for an enterprise-software technology company, including its acquisition of marquee customers Walt Disney, Southern California Edison, and Freeman Group.
He holds an MBA with specializations in Marketing and Finance as well as a Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
Dr. Thomas W. Allen
Director of Medical and Educational Applications and Director of Corporate Wellness
Dr. Allen brings to the organization over 40 years of experience medical practice, medical education and medical research. He is certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and sports medicine. Currently a Clinical Professor of Family and Sports Medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa, he recently retired as Vice president and Dean of Osteopathic Medicine at the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. While at Oklahoma State University, he established the nation's first medical school based telemedicine center and was appointed the first Southwestern Bell Professor of Telemedicine.
Dr. Allen served for 17 years in the US Army Reserve achieving the rank of Colonel. While serving in the USAR medical corps, he developed expertise in the recognition and treatment of chemical and biological casualties and disaster response. He is currently enrolled in the MPH program at the University of Oklahoma College of Public Health in the Domestic Preparedness and Terrorism Track.
He is widely published in the areas of medical practice, medical education, health and wellness, and sports medicine. Dr. Allen received his BA degree from Ottawa University, Ottawa, Kansas and his DO degree from Midwestern University, Chicago. His completed his graduate medical education at Northwestern University, also in Chicago.
Dr. Pradeep Sen
Dr. Pradeep Sen is a computer graphics specialist with expertise in image rendering and synthesis, including algorithms and hardware. His contributions to 3DIcon include assistance in enabling real-time interactive imaging on CSpace®.
Dr. Sen is co-founder of the Advanced Graphics Lab at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of New Mexico, where he serves as Assistant Professor. The Advanced Graphics Lab is dedicated to research in computer graphics, visualization, imaging, and computer vision.
Dr. Sen has conducted research on graphics and optics as a Principal Investigator on five research grant awards totaling $1.2 million from agencies including the National Science Foundation and Sandia National Laboratories. He has published in 17 peer reviewed journals and conference publications. Dr. Sen holds a PhD from the renowned computer graphics department at Stanford University.
